March is going to be a pretty busy month. While I have the month off from school, there are several things I want to do reading wise. The two biggest ones are Ramadan Readathon which is all month. As well as The Trans Rights Readathon during the end of March. I’m also preparing for Orilium next month and trying to double down on my numbers of books read.
But lets start at the top with Ramadan Readathon. Ramadan Readathon started way back in 2021 or 2022 sometime just shortly post-Pandemic. It focuses on reading books by Muslim authors or about Muslim topics throughout the month of Ramadan. This year that month falls in March.

Some of the books I’m going to try to read are Spice Road by Maiya Ibraham, The Jasad Heir by Sarah Hashem and City of Brass by S.A Chaklaborty. Finally I’m going to work on A Bit of Earth by Karuna Riazi. These books fill in several of the prompts and should be enough to keep me busy for the first half of the month until I have to shift my focus to Trans Rights
Trans Rights Readathon was founded by author Sim Kern and initially started as a small movement, the Trans Rights Readathon raised over $234,000 dollars for trans supporting organizations in 2023 — with 2,669 participants reading 7,800 books across 43 countries.
This readathon takes place across eleven days and highlights the Trans Day of Visibility on March 31st. Some of the books I’m reading for this readathon include The Many Half Lives of Sam Sylvester by Maya MacGregor, Transmogrify by G. Haron Davis finally I’m working on the non-fiction book Seeing Gender by Iris Gottlieb.
I hope to donate about $20 to $25 dollars to Trans Rights Readathon I hope you will join me in helping out your favorite trans organization. You can find out more information about them below.
