A Sign of Affection Volume 2

How is everyone’s week going we are halfway through and I’m already excited about the month moving along. My move in date was changed from July 1st to August 1st but it was actually a good thing because packing is taking me so long. Anyways I’ve been enjoying the extra time to read. Unfortunately I’ve packed up most of my books so I’m going purely digital for awhile.

We left off in A Sign of Affection with Yuki realizing she has feelings for Itsuomi and the two of them spending more time together along with their friends Rei and Kyouka. There is a very cute Costco run and them spending time in Itsu’s apartment, I love the way Istu is so respectful of her boundaries.

We also see some more interaction between Itsu and Oushi, I’d say while realistic it’s my least favorite part of this volume. Oushi is just being possessive and annoying even when it’s clear it’s not what Yuki wants, I feel like in his interactions with Yuki he infantilizes her some, especially when she’s going out with Itsu. This might not bother some people but since people with disabilities aren’t thought of as romantic beings it just hit me the wrong way.

The part that is my favorite is when Rei and Kyouya are interacting. I love when manga was a good support cast so seeing how they think of each other and their observations of their friends is really nice and give the manga depth and dimension

I also really enjoyed how snow comes up again in this volume. I know it is a pun with the title but it is very pretty when illustrated in the manga and the snow happening around different conversations makes for some of my favorite panels.
