Monthly Reading List: Manga, LGBTQ+ History, and Asian Readathon Books

I’m shooting for a total of six fiction books and 1-2 nonfiction books for the month. I’ll be happy with anything close to three or four since I read three this month. And I will be trying knock out a few longer pieces as well as some picture books and manga.

1) The first book on my list continues the trend of reading books I have purchased, if only sort of. I’ve tried to put myself on a bit of a limit when it comes to buying books. However every time I go out on a date I always pick some up.

I was pretty good this time and managed to only get one. However it was an omnibus so it’s nice and long.

I’m also working on two other manga.

and Sailor Moon Eternal Edition

I’m also looking to finish some books from previous months up. These include, A Deal with the Elf King, which I’m most of the way through and should have a review up next month. I think I’ll probably continue with the rest of the series this one is in. It’s romantasy, but not in a bad way. It’s pretty fluffy but sometimes you want that.

I’m also looking to read a few books for LGBTQ+ history month. Including Bad Gays, a book about Asexuality called Ace and a book about the Stonewall Riots. If any short books with these themes pop up I’ll try and nab them for my reading list too. Oh and I’m reading Polywise which I suppose isn’t directly dealing with LGBTQ issues but there is a cross over.

Finally for next month I want to finish some of the books I didn’t get to read for Asian Readathon in May.

I’m hoping to read four Asian Readathon books including Squire, which is a tale set in the fantasy middle east and I’ve heard good things about, it’s also a comic so it’s hitting another one of my boxes.
