I’m looking to do more tags and when I picked this one from Owl’s Book Corner I knew I had to do it. I want to track my progress with reading for the year so far and this is a great way to do it.
Here are the questions
How many books have you read?
I’ve read 26 books in total so far this year. I feel like that number would be higher if I counted DNFs, which I haven’t been but I might start doing from now on. I DNF a lot of books.
Have you already found a book you think might be a 2024 favorite?
I’ve found several books that I think are going to be my favorites for the year. They include Polywise, The Marble Queen, All Our Hidden Gifts, Ink Girls and Everything about Racism I Learned in School.
What was your favorite book you read that wasn’t quite five-stars?
The book was good. But it fell a little too much into stereotypes. I thought it was going to be a more dominant woman romance from the cover but it was more just a typical regency piece.
Any least favorite books of the year?
Honestly, I haven’t picked up anything that I didn’t care for that much maybe it’s because I’ve been DNFing a lot.
Most read genre so far?
Far and away I’ve read more romance than anything which isn’t surprising because it’s one of my new favorite genres. I’ve also read a lot of LGBTQIA piece which doesn’t surprise me as it’s a goal of mine this year to read more queer books. Finally I’ve read plenty of fantasy, another favorite genre of mine.
Book that’s come out in 2024 already that you want to read but haven’t yet?
I love the first book in this series and have the second one of this series on my side table. But I need to re-read the first two before I get to this, and I’ve gotten behind.
One goal you made that you’re succeeding at?
I’ve been pretty good with my book goals. I want to read 75 by the end of the year and I’m mostly on track for that. I only have to finish 2 more books. I’m also trying to read more Asian authors and I’m doing pretty good on that right now. Finally, I’m trying to read more of my physical TBR and I’ve read two books that I have in my house so far.
One goal you made you need to focus on?
I need to focus more on longer and more substantial novels. I feel like I haven’t read any chonky books this year.
New-to-you book bloggers for 2024 you recommend?
